Weighting functions PN - I: theoretical foundations

Description
In this work, the integrals of the Legendre moments of the neutron angular flux, called P-N weighting functions, are presented for a reactor cell in slab geometry. These expressions can be utilized as weighting functions for the respective moments of the transfer cross sections, with the purpose of generating effective cross sections. (author)
