Description

Dodecaammonium dihydrogen hexadecaaqua-29-molybdotetraeuropate(14-) tridecahydrate, (NH4)12H2[Eu4Mo29O100(H2O)16].13H2O, Mr=5713.0, monoclinic, C2/c, a=19.539 (6), b=43.31 (1), c=20.358 (6) A, β=117.88 (2) deg, V=15229 (8) A3, Z=4, Dx=2.47 Mg m-3, λ(MoKα)=0.71069 A, μ=3.97 mm-1, F(000)=10424, T=298 K, R=0.065 and wR=0.080 for 6705 independent reflections. The title compound is obtained from aqueous methanolic solutions containing [Mo7O24]6- and Eu3+. The central [Eu4(MoO4)(H2O)16]10+ core of the anion is coordinated by four heptamolybdate groups in the location of D2d symmetry. Each Eu3+ atom in the core exhibits ninefold coordination by O atoms belonging to H2O, MoO4 and Mo7O24 units. (orig.)
