Term dependent correlation crystal field to the 2H(2) sub(11/2) levels of Nd+3:LiYF4

Description
Phenomenological crystal field parameters reproduce quite satisfactorily the splittings of a very large number of levels of Nd3+ : LiYF4 but give less than half the observed splitting of the 2H(2) sub(11/2) multiplet. Phenomenological two-body crystal field parameters were able to account for more than 50% of this discrepancy. (C.L.B.)

Parametros fenomenologicos de campo cristalino reproduzem satisfatoriamente as separacoes de um grande numero de niveis no sistema Nd3+ : LiYF4 mas fornecem menos da metade das separacoes do multiplete de 2H(2) sub(11/2). Parametros fenomenologicos de campo cristalino de dois corpos foram capazes de explicar mais do que 50% dessa discrepancia. (C.L.B.)Additional details
