A Coalsack. I. A search for flare-star spectra
Description
In 1320 square-degree-hours of objective-prism observations of the Coalsack, only one possible new flare star was discovered. This is contrary to expectations from preliminary work by other investigators, which suggested that many flare stars might be present and, as a corollary, that the Coalsack is a region of active star formation.
