Description

The investigation results of the effect of intercalation by lithium on the Fermi level position and concentration of free charge carriers in bismuth telluride are presented. Change in the Fermi level position during intercalation was determined according to bends of the Motl-Schotlky diagrams of Volt-Faraday characteristics measured by the electrochemical technique. It is shown that the increase of concentration of the intercalant introduced, accompanying by the decrease of the distance between neighbouring intercalant nodes and, as a consequence, by the increase of the Coulomb interaction, leads to the increase of charge transfer from the intercalant to the band, i.e. to the increase of free carriers
