Hydrogen international observatory: No.5 - Hydrogen strategy of Spain, April 2023
Description
Spain is committed to the massive joint development of electrolysis and renewable electricity capacity, with the dual aim of decarbonizing its industry and exporting to its European neighbors. It is also positioning itself as a logistics hub for low-carbon hydrogen from North African countries to European economies, in direct competition with neighboring Italy. This document summarizes the main figures of the hydrogen industry in Spain: sectoral consumption, hydrogen development support, companies involved, hydrogen production road-map, projects financing, planing of renewable capacities for hydrogen production, major projects announced, hydrogen transport and distribution infrastructures
