Radiation telomerization of ethylene by 3-methylbutanoic acid

Description
γ-radiation telomerization of ethylene by 3-methylbutanoic acid is performed. The composition of reaction products is determined. The presence of only one series of telomeric products formed, when the α-CH bond in the acid is broken, is shown. The effect of the concentration relation of initial reagents and temperature (50-150 deg C) on radiation-chemical yield of telomeric acids is studied. The activation energy of addition of radicals produced during acid radiolysios to ethylene is determined. The particular constants of chain propagation are calculated
