Enthalpy of oxidation of molybdenum(III) and molybdenum(V) binuclear complexes in aqueous solutions

Description
Thermal effect of multistage and redox reactions of mono- and binuclear complexes of molybdenum(III) and molybdenum(V) in acid aqueous solutions were measured by the method of calorimetric titration. On the basis of simultaneously recorded electronic absorption spectra in visible and ultraviolet regions for the solutions mentioned, the sequence of the molybdenum complexes transformation stages was determined. Enthalpy of dimerization was estimated by comparing the enthalpies of oxidation of the relevant mono- and binuclear complexes of molybdenum(III), while the experimental proof of molybdenum(III) complex energy stabilization at the expense of Mo-Mo bond formation was obtained

Методом калориметрического титрования измерены тепловые эффекты многостадийных обменных и окислительно-восстановительных реакций моно- и биядерных комплексов молибдена(III) и (V) в кислых водных растворах. На основе полученных одновременно электронных спектров поглощения в видимой и ультрафиолетовой областях для этих растворов установлена последовательность стадий превращения комплексов молибдена. Путем сопоставления энтальпий окисления соответственных моно- и биядерных комплексов молибдена(III) оценена энтальпия димеризации и получено экспериментальное доказательство энергетической стабилизации комплекса молибдена(III) за счет образования связи Mo-MoAdditional details
