Harmonic phonon states in thin films

Description

The mean phonon energy in thin films for a given temperature was calculated in this paper. In both the possible cases, of volume phonons as well as of the surface cones, it was shown that when the temperature tends to zero the mean phonon energy tends to the non-zero constant which depends on the parameters of broken symmetry
