MDEP VICWG-02 Technical Report - Survey on quality assurance program requirements

The survey was prepared using the requirements of Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50, 'Quality Assurance Criteria for Nuclear Power Plants and Fuel Reprocessing Plants'. These requirements form the basis upon which the U.S. NRC oversees the activities of vendors providing parts and services to the commercial U.S. nuclear power industry. As discussed and agreed to at the October 2008 Vendor Inspection Cooperation Working Group meeting in Dijon, France, the survey that follows was developed using these requirements. The survey is divided into the 18 basic criteria of Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50. Within each criteria there are individual requirements that have been identified as separate and distinct elements that are covered during the inspection of vendor activities. In addition to the requirements of Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50, the requirements of 10 CFR Part 21, 'Reporting of Defects and Non-compliance', have been listed at the end of the survey as an example of 'Other Requirements Related To Vendor Inspections', for the NRC.
