IRC + 60370 and the infrared radiation from luminous G and K supergiants
Description
IRC +60370 (K0: Ia) was observed to have large silicate emission features at 11 and 18 similar to the very luminous star HR 5171a (G8 Ia). The other G and K supergiants have less excess radiation attributed to silicates. In W Cep (K0 epIa +0) the infrared radiation between 1.5 and 6 has the same slope as free-free emission plus a small silicate feature. Key words: supergiants - infrared radiation
