Production of a high magnetic field in a small volume by superconducting solenoids

Description

A three-sectional SMS has been developed on the basis of the NT-50 superconductor to make superconducting magnetic systems (SMS) intended for low temperature investigations of small objects in a strong magnetic field. A 1.4-kg SMS with a disprosium concentrator (which has two insets, each 10 mm in diameter and 40 mm long with 110 deg cone poles and a small base 2 mm in diameter) has permitted to obtain a 16.1 T magnetic field at 1.9 K
