RALOC Mod 1/81: Program description of RALOC version by the structural heat model HECU

Description

In the version RALOC-Mod 1/81 an expanded heat transfer model and structure heat model is included. This feature allows for a realistic simulation of the thermodynamic and fluiddynamic characteristics of the containment atmosphere. Steel and concrete substructures with a plain or rotational symmetry can be represented. The treat transfer calculations for the structures are problem oriented, taking into account, the time- and space dependencies. The influence of the heat transfer on the gas transport (in particular convection) in the reactor vessel is demonstrated by the numerical calculations. In contrast to the calculations without a simulation of the heat storage effects of the container structures showing a widely homogenious hydrogen distribution, the results on the basis of the HECU-model give an inhomogenious distribution during the first 8 to 12 days. However these results are only examples for the application of the RALOC-Mod 1/81 -code, which have not been intended to contribute to the discussion of hydrogen distributions in a PWR-type reactor. Abstract (German)

Die Version RALOC-Mod 1/81 verfuegt ueber ein aufwendiges Waermeuebergangs- und Strukturwaermemodell. Dies gestattet nunmehr eine realitaetsbezogene Simulation der Thermo- und Fluiddynamik der Containmentatmosphaere. Stahl- und Betoneinbauten koennen in ebener oder rotationssymmetrischer Geometrie abgebildet werden. Die Berechnung des Waermeuebergangs an Strukturen erfolgt problemabhaengig unter Beruecksichtigung der zeit- und ortsabhaengigen Verhaeltnisse. Die Rechenbeispiele lassen die Einfluesse des Waermeaustausches auf den Gastransport (speziell Konvektion) im Sicherheitsbehaelter erkennen. Waehrend die Rechnung ohne Simulation der Waermespeicherwirkung von Strukturen weitgehende Homogenitaet in der Wasserstoffverteilung zeigten, werden in den Rechnungen mit dem HECU-Modell inhomogene Verhaeltnisse fuer die ersten 8 bis 12 Tage erhalten. Es muss jedoch betont werden, dass es sich hierbei lediglich um Anwendungsbeispiele fuer RALOC-Mod 1/81 und nicht um Nachweise zur Wasserstoffverteilung in einem DWR handelt. (orig./GL)
