Nuclear safety and radiation protection in France

During the year 2004, the Nuclear Safety Authority has consolidated its action. The objective is to get a radiation protection and nuclear safety at the same excellent level. The most significant elements of the year 2004 were: the law project about transparency and safety in the nuclear field, the construction of the new A.S.N. ( Nuclear Safety Authority), the setting up of the inspection of local nuclear activities, the radiation protection of patients and its checking, the safety of the European Pressurized Reactor project, the national plan of radioactive waste management, the years living and high level radioactive waste, the harmonization of the nuclear safety in Europe and the International action of the nuclear safety authority.
