Evaluation of inspection and enforcement programs of other regulatory, safety, and professional organizations: Phase II

This volume presents information on five tasks selected by NRC after reviewing the recommendations for further study that were made at the close of Phase I of the study of inspection and enforcement programs of other agencies. Task 1 involves an examination of methods to assure inspection program uniformity and inspector objectivity. Performance appraisal methods are examined in Task 2, vendor inspection is the subject of Task 3, and inspection methods used by the Corps of Engineers are reviewed in Task 4. The final task compares agency I and E personnel to the manpower in the regulated industry as well as to the industry inspection work force
