Contribution to the optimization of worker's radiological protection in a uranium mine

Description

This report presents the results of an optimization study dealing with radiological protection in a uranium mine. The modelization of alpha contamination associated with short-lived radon daughter in a mine branch allows the comparison of various protection strategies by a cost-effectiveness analysis in view of determining the ''optimal'' protection strategy. The study points out the interest of the optimization procedure as a decision-aiding tool within the framework of radiological protection

Abstract (French)

Ce rapport presente les resultats d'une etude d'optimisation de la protection radiologique d'une mine d'uranium. A partir d'une modelisation de la contamination alpha (liee aux descendants a vie courte du radon) d'une ligne de courant, plusieurs strategies de protection sont comparees a l'aide d'une analyse cout-efficacite en vue de determiner la strategie de protection ''optimale''. L'etude montre l'interet de la procedure d'optimisation dans la perspective de l'aide a la decision en protection radiologique
