The magnetic field design of 4 T fast cycling superconducting dipole magnet
Description
The problem of optimization of the 2D magnetic field of a 4 T dipole magnet with the aperture diameter of 100-110 mm for a fast cycling synchrotron is considered. A single layer coil is made of hollow superconducting NbTi cable designed at operating current of 30 kA. The description of mathematical method developed for minimization of higher harmonic of the magnetic field by variation of the coil current loops angular position is given. The numerical simulation results for 2D magnetic fields are presented
