Evolution and composition of Sirius and Procyon

Description
Stellar models are calculated and compared to the new observational data available for Sirius and Procyon. Sirius can be fitted by normal compositions (X=0.7, Z=0.02) very near the zero-age main sequence. Procyon is more evolved, hence more ambiguous; an anomalous composition (high X or Z) or a smaller mass than the astrometric mass is necessary to fit its position in the H-R diagram. (auth)
