Description

Neutron knockout is proposed as a suitable tool to investigate the role of two-body currents in quasi-free electron scattering in a combined analysis of the different nuclear responses also involving polarization observables. The calculations performed for the reaction 17O(e, e'n)16Og.s. indicate a strong sensitivity to the isobar excitation in the intermediate state of the pure transverse and the longitudinal-transverse responses in the differential cross section as well as of the transverse component P'S of the polarization transfer.
