Energy transfer in luminescent complexes of Eu3 and Tb3 with homo and copolymers of acrylic acid and alkyl methacrylates

Description

The influence of the composition and structure of macromolecular ligand on the efficiency of energy transfer in the complexes of Eu3 and Tb3 with ligands on the basis of acrylic acid has been studied. It was found that a decrease in the size of alkyl radical of methacrylic esters and low contents of acrylic moieties of the Eu3 complexes with the copolymers increases the efficiency of the Eu3 concentration quenching. Insertion of noncoordinative alkyl methacrylate into polymeric chain results in an increase in the efficiency of energy transfer from Tb3+ to Eu3+. 12 refs.; 2 figs
