Development of Digital Power Range Neutron Monitor for BWR nuclear power plants

Description
A Digital Power Range Neutron Monitor (DPRNM) has been developed for Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) nuclear power plants, using digital signal processing techniques. The DPRNM system has the finite impulse response digital filter which has a band pass characteristics of DC to 10Hz to pass neutron detector signals, in which 50Hz or 60Hz signals are sharply cut off to attenuate noises coming from the power supply more than 40dB. For fast signal processing, the digital signal processor was utilized in the digital filter. In performance tests, frequency characteristics, delay time of the digital filter and the response of the DPRNM for in-core neutron detector signals recorded in a real plant were measured. It is confirmed that the DPRNM meets the requirements for the application to BWR nuclear power plants. (author)

本システムでは、複数の中性子検出器の信号を時系列的に多重化して信号処理を行う。ディジタルフィルタの遅延時間が所定の目標を満足するよう、ディジタル信号プロセッサを用い、中性子検出器の信号に対する8回のサンプリングの時間を1周期としてディジタルフィルタ演算を行う信号処理方式を実現した。開発したディジタル型出力領域モニタの信号処理方式の性能確認試験として、模擬の中性子検出器信号を用いたディジタルフィルタの周波数特性と遅延時間の測定、および実プラントで採取した中性子検出器の信号を入力した場合のシステムの応答の測定を行った。ディジタル型出力領域モニタの概要、ディジタルフィルタの特性およびディジタルフィルタを含めた信号処理の具体的な方法、性能確認試験の内容と結果をそれぞれ報告する。(日本)Additional details
