Binary refractory uranium carbides
Description
Available experimental data on ternary alloy phase structure have been analysed on the basis of theoretically constructed isothermal cross sections at each representative temperature of ternary system phase diagram. Uranium-carbon-vanadium (chromium, molybdenum, tungsten) systems, in which ternary compounds or binary uranium carbides are formed, have been investigated. For each system a compilation phase diagram is plotted, fragments requiring experimental verification are indicated. Crystallographic characteristics of binary uranium carbides are presented
