Neutron irradiation embrittlement of ASTM A533 B pressure vessel steels

Description

Results are presented of the embrittlement due to neutron irradiation of pressure vessel steel of the type ASTM A533 B Class 1. Indications of the embrittlement were obtained by carrying out a program on both unirradiated and irradiated samples involving the following tests: Charpy V-notch impact tests, tensile tests, Vickers hardness tests and metallographic tests. Changes in the ductile-brittle transition temperature were determined
