Cementitious materials for the encapsulation of radioactive wastes

Description

The paper introduces the production of cement, cement terminology and the reactions which occur during hydration. Some methods of investigating the hydration reactions are presented and several theories for hydration mechanisms are discussed. Finally, some practical considerations for workers using cement in the radwaste field are noted. (author)
