Optical absorption in thin films of cerium dioxide containing indium oxide
Description
The effect of In2O3 on optical properties of CeO2 samples having different CeO2/In2O3 compositions is investigated by optical absorption measurements. The mixed oxide films were deposited on glass substrates using the co-evaporation technique. The variation of the optical absorbance with wavelength for different compositions of CeO2/In2O3 thin films (CeO2: 0, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100%) is represented and values of the optical energy gap Eopt are calculated. As the content of In2O3 increases to more than 20 mol% a rapid shift of Eopt from 2.45 to 1.1 eV could be found
