Stacking faults and pre-precipitation in nickel--beryllium alloys
Description
The variation of stacking fault probability as a function of Be (solute) concentration was investigated in Ni--6 to 14 at. percent Be alloys. Stacking fault energy of the alloys was estimated and is presented as a function of Be and also as a function of normalized solute concentration (c/1 + c)2, (where c = x/x*, x is the solute concentration and x* is the solute concentration at solubility limit). Cu--6.6 to 9.8 at. percent Si alloys were also investigated for comparison. (U.S.)
