Thermodynamic calculation of solubility of intermetallic compounds in maraging alloys

Description
A thermodynamic calculation of the temperature-concentration ranges of the different phase existence was carried out made to reveal the effective mechanism of alloying elements on the nature of ageing precipitates in multicomponent alloys based on Fe-Ni system. The main features of the decomposition of supersaturated solid solutions in multicomponent maraging alloys are determined by the variation of the thermodynamic properties of solution resulting from alloying. In Fe-Ni-Ti alloys the precipitation of only Ni3Ti is thermodynamically controlled
