Description
Excitation function of 58Ni for (n, p), (n, α) and (n, n') reactions induced by 1 to 14 MeV neutrons at steps of one MeV have been computed using compound nucleus theory and inverse reaction cross-sections using ABACUS-2 computer code. Level density formula due to Lang and Le-Couteur as discussed by Wadhwa et al has been used in these computations. Pairing energy corrections have been applied and it has been found that these results fairly agree with the experimental cross-sections available at some of the energies. It has been found that pairing energy corrections and odd-even effects give nearly same cross-sections. (author)
