First look at new results on charm photoproduction from tagged photon spectrometer
Description
First results on D0, D+ and F+ production from charm photoproduction experiment E691 at Fermilab are presented. The observed charm signals, based on a small fraction of data, are remarkably clean and large. The expected final statistics of charm particles exceed by more than an order of magnitude those of previous fixed target experiments. Analysis plans for immediate and more distant future are presented. 4 figs.; 5 refs
