Quasistatic evolution of magnetic structures on the Sun and their topological reconstruction

  • 1. AN SSSR, Irkutsk (USSR). Sibirskij Inst. Zemnogo Magnetizma Ionosfery i Rasprostraneniya Radiovoln

Description

The problem of quasistatic evolution of a magnetic configuration on the Sun as it is affected by shear motions as field line footpoints is considered. It is found that, with a certain character of the shear motions at the field line footpoints, topological reconstruction will, of necessity, occur in the magnetic configuration. A pattern of magnetic field lines during the course of configuration reconstruction is given. A scenario, describing the evolution of a flare-active region on the Sun, is proposed
