Deconvolution of gamma-ray peak doublets as a function of peak separation and relative amplitude
Description
Deconvolution techniques are used to determine the areas of individual overlapping peaks in gamma-ray spectroscopy. The method of least squares fitting has been successfully used in the quantitative analysis of manufactured spectra containing doublets separated by less than and more than the FWHM and with relative amplitudes of 1:1 and 1:1000. An assessment has also been made of the differences that may occur in determining the area of a small peak located on the low- and high-energy side of a large peak. (orig.)
