Slowing down retardation corrosion of certain alloys in hot helium
Description
Possibility of inhibiting high-temperature corrosion in technical helium was clarified and the effect of alloy compositions on their corrosion resistance was specified. It is shown that high-nickel alloys stabilized by niobium can be subjected to less pronounced corrosion damages during their use in helium circuits. Corrosion effect of the coolant on austenite steels and nickel alloys can be reduced by introduction of oxidizing components into the coolant or purification from hydrocarbons
