HEU-LEU differentiation of AVR balls by gamma spectrometry
Description
Automatic translation: The spherical fuel elements in the AVR are about half each highly enriched (HEU: approx. 90% enriched uranium + thorium) and half of it is low enriched (LEU: 10: or 17% enriched Uranium). All balls pass after three to four weeks of subsidence the combustion measuring system of the AVR, which gamma spectrometrically detects each ball missing.

Die kugelförmigen Brennelemente im AVR sind etwa je zur Hälfte hochangereichert (HEU: ca. 90% angereichertes Uran + Thorium) und zur Hälfte niedrig angereichert (LEU: 10:bzw. 17% angereichertes Uran). Alle Kugeln passieren nach drei bis vier Wochen Abklingen die Abbrandmeßanlage des AVR, die jede Kugel gammaspektrometrisch vermißt.Files
