Description
We present model amplitudes for pp→pp elastic scattering in the intermediate hard scattering kinematic regime: mp2 much-lt | t |much-lt s, and apply them to the calculation of spin observables. In this region, the t-dependent Landshoff amplitudes have a significant contribution to the spin observables. Helicity non-conserving effects may also play a major role in this regime. Specific QCD motivated predictions for the spin observables can be tested at polarized proton beam facilities. A program is suggested for elastic polarized proton scattering experiments in this kinematic region, which can be used to test the foundations of exclusive QCD
