Exposure to whole body phantom using head and neck CT-unit (SCT-100N)

Description
In April 1979, our hospital was installed with home-made head CT-unit (SCT-100 N) and recently computed tomography (called CT) became very popular. In this study the absorbed dose distribution in the body phantom undergoing head scanning with the EMI-CT equipment was measured using a thermoluminescence dosimeter. It has been reported that the maximum absorbed dose of the brain was 1946 mrads per scan and the surface doses at the wrist and the foot seemed to range from 0.1 - 0.6 mrads and 1.7 - 5.3 mrads per scan, respectively.
