Decommissioning of the NUKEM-Alt facility. The decommissioning procedure adopted for the Hanau fuel element fabrication plants NUKEM-A and HOBEG
Description
The nuclear regulatory authority decided to provide for an optional participation of the public as far as the dismantling of the buildings of the NUKEM-Alt und HOBEG sites is concerned, while dismantling of the mechanical equipment of the two factories was judged to be subject to paragraph 7, sub-sec. 3 of Atomic Energy Act, not requiring participation of the public. As a result, the overall decommissioning plans had to be amended. The paper reports the current status of the licensing procedure and of the work for dismonthing of buildings. (DG)
Abstract (German)
Von der atomrechtlichen Behoerde wurde entschieden, eine fakultative Oeffentlichkeitsbeteiligung fuer die Stillegung und den Abbau der Gebaeudesubstanz der Produktionsstaetten NUKEM-A und HOBEG durchzufuehren. Das Ausraeumen von Maschinen sind dagegen mit Paragraph 7 Abs. 3 AtG ohne Oeffentlichkeit durchfuehrbar. Diese Situation erforderte die Erstellung eines geaenderten Gesamtkonzepts. Ueber den aktuellen Stand der Genehmigungsverfahren und des Abbaus der Anlagenteile wird berichtet. (DG)Additional details
