Description
In gamma spectrometry the use of theoretical self-absorption coefficients (SACs) can eliminate the need to determine the SAC empirically by counting a known source through each sample. Models have been developed to estimate self-absorption corrections for the determination of non-specified gamma-emitting radionuclides in environmental and mixed waste samples of unknown, widely varying compositions.
