Expert estimation of the accuracy of determining the F2-region maximum parameters

Description

Comparative accuracy evaluations of describing critical frequencies and altitudes of ionosphere F2 maximum, obtained on the basis of application of a number of modern models at low, medium and high latitudes are presented. The results of the analysis show that empiric model 'Forecasting of maximum applied frequencies' which is not inferior to the rest of models by accuracy of describing the f0F2 critical frequency values at all latitudes, but essentially gains in high-speed response by computer calculations, is the most efficient one for practical application
