Effect of samarium on the corrosion-electrochemical properties of aluminum in a neutral medium

Description
Corrosion-electrochemical behavior of aluminum and a samarium-alloyed aluminum-manganese alloy of eutectic composition in a neutral aqueous medium was studied. It was ascertained that as a result of the alloying with samarium potentials of free corrosion, pitting and corrosion of the alloys studied are displaced to the range of more positive values. The optimal compositions of corrosion-resistant binary and ternary alloys in the systems Al-0.05% Sm and Al-1.9% Mn-0.05% Sm in a neutral chloride-containing medium were determined

Исследовано коррозионно-электрохимическое поведение алюминия и алюминиево-марганцевого сплава эвтектического состава, легированного самарием, в нейтральной водной среде. Установлено, что в результате легирования самарием потенциалы свободной коррозии, питтингообразования и коррозии изученных сплавов смещаются в область более положительных значений.
