Dibaryon resonance effects on πd scattering
Description
The effects of dibaryon resonances on πd scattering are studied in a model where the resonances are assumed to be quasi-bound states of the NΔ system and the background amplitudes are calculated in a three-body approach. The resonances couple to πd and NN channnels only through the NΔ system, and the resonance parameters are chosen so as to give the observed anomalies in the NN data. With this restriction, the 1D2(2170) resonance seems the most important in πd scattering, and its effects on the differential cross sections and the polarization parameters are calculated. The relations to previous works are also discussed. (orig.)
