The principle and the merits of radiation detecting and measuring by using the Imaging Plate
- 1. Fuji Photo Film Co. Ltd., Tokyo (Japan)
Description
The 'Imaging Plate' is a new film-like radiation image sensor comprised of specifically designed phosphor that trap and store the radiation energy. The stored energy is stable until scanned with a laser beam, which releases the energy as luminescence. This phosphor technology, launched in its first application to the medical X-ray diagnostic field, second application to the bio-imaging analysis field, ported promise in a wide range of newer scientific and technological applications.
