Description

For radiation protection in a medical environment, the first decade of the millennium was a crucial period marked by rapid technological innovation, the emergence of new regulations targeting patient radiation protection, but also by the occurrence of incidents and accidents, mainly in radiotherapy, which revealed weaknesses and inadequacies in terms of human resources, organisation and the safety culture. In 2011, ASN is able to assess the state of radiation protection in the medical environment in the various sectors it regulates, particularly in radiotherapy and interventional radiology. It is however also able to draw up a list of the measures taken or to be taken in order to improve radiation protection. (author)
