Description
The radiocarbon content of some iron archaeological artifacts has been measured in an attempt to determine dates of manufacture. The authors discuss techniques of extracting, combusting and reducing carbon from iron artifacts, and present the results of radiocarbon measurements on fragments of chain mail found in the central US and thought to be of 16th century Spanish provenence
