Description

Angular distribution of fission fragments for photofission of 232Th and 238U were measured for Bremsstrahlung energies in the range 7.4 – 9.2 MeV. Present studies were carried out using variable energy Microtron accelerator installed at Mangalore University. SSNTD films (Lexan polycarbonates films) were used as a fission fragment detectors. From the measured angular distributions, the barrier heights and curvatures for low-energy fission channels in the transition state nucleus were deduced. (author)
