Standard model tests using e/sup +/e/sup -/ collisions and neutrino beams
Description
The present status of standard model tests using e/sup +/e/sup -/ collisions and neutrino beams is reviewed. At present, the best determination of both the Weinberg angle (sin/sup 2/ θw), and the strength of the coupling rho, comes from deep inelastic neutrino nucleon scattering experiments. A comparison of the values of sin/sup 2/θw measured in neutrino experiments, with the measured masses of the W and Z gauge bosons provides a test of the one loop radiative corrections. All experiments are at present consistent with the standard model predictions. However, further investigation of two standard deviation discrepancies in high energy muon and tau pair asymmetries as measured in e/sup +/e/sup -/ collisions is needed. Similarly, low thrust isolated muons at the highest e/sup +/e/sup -/ center of mass energies, neutrino induced like sign dimuons, and possible evidence for D0 -D-bar0 mixing are not presently understood. These should be clarified in upcoming experiments at TRISTAN, SLC, LEP and Fermilab
