Instrumentation, threshold and signal processing for the nuclear boiling generator of KNK II

Description

It is investigated in this report, which measuring data recorder are suitable for the control of the respective operational state and for the observation of the boiling process in the planned nuclear boiling generator of KNK II. The expected behaviour of the different measuring parameters during normal and test operation is estimated. With consideration of the irradiation and temperature loadings at the place of operation, the requirements for the data recorders are formulated and compared with the specifications of available devices. Hereby, it became obvious that a redundant and diverse safety instrumentation with flow-meters, thermocouples and neutron detectors is feasible. A threshold management for the safety relevant measuring data is proposed and a constructional arrangement of all data recorders in the instrumented plug of KNK II is given
