Backward hadrons from deep inelastic lepton scattering on nuclei

Description

We consider the predictions of a quark cluster model for backward hadrons produced in deep inelastic scattering of leptons from nuclear targets. After making some kinematic comments, we show that the counting rules for the longitudinal momentum distribution supplemented by a standard parametrization of the transverse momentum distribution produce a decent representation of the available high energy experimental backward proton results.
