Control experimental on the heat transfer crisis during water flow in tubes

Description

A comparative analysis of the results of control experiments related to the investigation of heat transfer crisis during water flow in tubes and performed at various benchmarks is carried out. Standard tubes of one batch 12 mm in-diameter and 2 mm thick are used as workning samples. The tubes are made of the KX18N10T steel. The experiments a re carried out at 7.0; 10.0; 14.0 and 18.0 MPa pressure, 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 kg/(m2xs) flow rate and 50-300 deg C water inlet temperature. Tube lenghts are 1; 3 and 6m. The results obtained show that for identical conditions data on critical power obtained at various benchmarks differ by 10-32%. It is concluded that the causes of the obtained result deviations are: the difference in becnhmark circuits, ina ccaracy in maintaining the operational conditions during experiments, insufficient benchmark equiping with modern systems for operational parameter measuring, ins ufficient thoroughness of experiment preparation and carrying out (calibration of thermocouples and flowmeters, determination of thermal losses)
