Description
The alkaline calcination process of goethite, was tested in order to extract chromium and aluminium prior to the use of Caron's ammonia-leachinh process for nickel extraction from laterites. It was found that the reaction product of goethite with sodium carbonate was the β modification of sodium ferrite which leads to ultrafine particle hematite in the aqueous leaching process. (author)
