Ion acoustic waves in a thin radially inhomogeneous plasma column
Description
The dispersion of low-frequency electrostatic waves propagating along a radially inhomogeneous plasma cylinder has been investigated. It is shown that the density inhomogeneity introduces only an additional collisionless damping. The latter depends on the integral and differential characteristics of the density profile. (author)
